Okay, that was spooky.

I was stuck in the depths of hell a voice recognition system, and finally, in annoyance, after listening their options, I blurted out "Can I just talk to a person?" and I'll be dipped if the IVR didn't say "Would you like to talk to a representative?"

It is a "feature" for a lot of these voice driven phone menuing systems that if the caller starts yelling about canceling an account, they are supposed to divert the call to an operator. Sometimes bitching does help. :)

When I get those damned IVRs I just repeat the word "agent" over and over and get transferred to a human fairly quickly.
