Everyone liked dinner last night a lot, which isn't exactly unusual, but is worth noting. (Usually everyone likes dinner just fine, but multiple active compliments are something else.) I have this
out from the library, and while we didn't have any noodles in the house, we did have rice... I marinated a pound of chicken breast in a mixture of 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon fish sauce, 1 tablespoon cider vinegar, about half a tablespoon Splenda, a little bit of seasame oil (more would have been better, but we were running more low than I thought) and a tablespoon of cornstarch for about half an hour. Meaning, I set a bunch of brown rice to cooking and cut up a bunch of broccoli and garlic. The chicken got cooked in a hot wok with a bunch of garlic until it was done, then turned out on a plate. The broccoli went into the same skillet with more garlic and about 1/4 cup of vegetable broth.
It was good and tasty, and everyone liked it (score!) Bowl food is good for us, because everyone can arrange their bowl the way they want it. It's a habit we need to get back into.
