There's a quote attributed to Lee Iaccoca pasted up on the inside of the door to the grad office that was just what I needed to see this morning: "In a completely rational society, the best of us would aspire to be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest responsibility anyone could have."
So, redzils and lycantras rolled in about 1:00. We wandered out and got Bruegger's for lunch and wandered around the really nice kitchen store and B&N a bit (they need an atlas for the impending road trip). We wandered around Edward McKay and got our book fix on. We hit Cook-out and got milkshakes. We came home and knitted and quilted and visited. We debated dinner out versus dinner in until Red decided that we were going out and having Thai food. We had really good food at the Thai place near school that I'd been wanting to try. And now we're home, computing and quilting and yarning and visiting. It's been alltogether a really great day.
