This morning's breakfast experiment: the peanut butter smoothie. Lacking in any frozen fruit besides bananas, and reasoning that since PB shakes are good, this might be, I threw some yogurt, a frozen banana, a couple tablespoons of PB, and a bit of sugar into the blender.

Verdict? Not as thick as smoothies with more fruit. Not bad. Not what my taste buds expect when thinking "smoothie". Would eat again, in a pinch.

I sometimes get PB&J smoothies (well, really peanut butter and berries). I find that after a good workout, they stick with me better than ones with just fruit (of course, mine don't have yogurt because of the dairy allergy - though I sometimes get ones from the smoothie bar that have soy protein).

I also sometimes put silken tofu in my smoothies, for that matter, when I'm making them at home. This is usually a "must eat something with protein, having trouble giving a damn" strategy, though.
