We went out to the big farmer's market this morning to get seedlings for our beginning gardening efforts. We got:

- sweet basil
- lemon basil
- rosemary
- mint
- cherry tomatos
- chives
- marglobe tomatos
- green peppers

Right now, the spare bedroom (which gets some of the best sun in the house, and out of which we can shut the cats) smells heavenly. We'll get things potted over the next couple days and located to better homes. We'll see how this goes; I've never seriously tried to grow anything except spider plants before.

(We also go strawberries, cucumbers, and a yellow pepper to eat this week.)

Dinner plans got shuffled around, since we are a household lacking in soy sauce. Instead, we did the green salad tonight. Lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, yellow pepper, hard boiled eggs, sun-dried tomato vinegrette. Everything but the apples, croutons, and dressing was local, and man, it was so, so tasty. Eating well really is a pleasure.
