knitting, kittens and yarn

(no subject)

So arlydwycka recently figured out how to knit small circumference things (like socks) on 2 circulars, instead of double-pointeds, and while I do plan on conquering the DPNs sometime in my life, it's not happening anytime soon, so I asked if she'd be willing to teach me. faecat had tried valiantly once, over email (dear Seattle: please relocate yourself to, oh, say, next to Raleigh) but I have to see these things for them to really take. So Jessie and I met up for coffee last night before her class.

It's magic. Seriously. It took her about five minutes to show me, and I was off and running. And it's so easy. It's a little awkward at first, juggling the two circulars when you're moving back and forth between them, but much less difficult than juggling dpns. And it's really logical, once you're looking at what you're doing, and much less strain on your fabric than magic loop. I am so making my next sweater sleeves like this. And socks. And armwarmers. And anything else I can think of. :) I'm going to end up with a ton of circs, but that's okay, because that way, I can always run two projects at once. :)

(Reminds me: artisanal_xara, those gray colored circs of mine that you have? What size are they? I don't need them back, I'm just trying to figure out what I have.)
