Interesting stat

According to the 2003 UCR from the FBI, there were 8 anti-bisexual hate crimes in the United States. The level of detail to which they've split out these statistics is pretty interesting.

For lunch, I took some leftover mashed potatoes from last week, made them up into potato cakes, and fried them up. I melted some cheddar cheese on top and sliced up one of the tomatoes that Dad brought me from his garden yesterday. While they certainly wouldn't rival, say, Claim Jumper's potato cakes, they were pretty darned tasty. Breakfast was an egg fried up with more tomatoes and green peppers (the green peppers from my Dad's garden always taste so much better than the store brought ones. I'm finally developing a taste for green peppers) and sausage and more cheese, wrapped up in tortillas. It's been a good food day.

Today's goal is to get most, if not all, of my homework for the week done. So far, I'm cruising along pretty well. I've got the rough draft of my paper due Tuesday done, and it's perculating. Now I'm up to a summary of the arguments for whether or not the Quran is created or uncreated. I like that I have a professor who I know won't be offended if I start out with "The main thrust of these arguments is 'We're right, and you're wrong.' " However, he would be offended if I didn't continue with something a little more substantial than that, so back to writing I go. :)

I have this problem, when I'm in school, of being single-minded about homework until it makes me crazy. This is not one of my better qualities. :) I got quite a bit of my homework for the week done, but not all of it. I hit a wall where there was just not going to be any more school reading done for the day, and I wisely quit. My paper for Tuesday is drafted, my reading summary for Tuesday is drafted, and more than half of my reading summary for Thursday is done. I'm in pretty good shape. I need to try to remember to get in some activity that's not school or work every day - I managed to get in some pleasure reading, some knitting, and a movie today, so I'm feeling a lot more sane. And this week should be the last week for 6am shifts, so.

Clapotis is coming along. It's going to be soooo pretty. :) I've decided that I want to make this, but not in the recommended $300 worth of yarn (sheesh!) It's just knit stitches, perl stitches, short rows, and picking up stitches. I can do that.

I'm really not in the mood to go to bed, but, well, tomorrow is one of those 6am mornings. Goodnight, moon.
