So, I have a short shameful confession: I got on my bike today for the first time since I got my car, way over a year ago.
I also have a happy announcement: I got on my bike today! :) And I drug Jeff out.
We were out for 65 minutes, but by the time you account for water/bike adjustment/GPS consultation breaks, it was probably more like 50 minutes of riding. Gmap Pedometer says 5.8 miles. (Yes, we're slow.) We rode up to the greenway, looped through part of Guilford Courthouse park, ended up going the wrong way on the car/bike trail and got asked (very nicely) to turn around by the park ranger, looped back through the park, found the connector to Country Park, and rolled home.
It was a good ride.
Nifty thing seen today: coming around a bend in the greenway, two amazingly gorgeous deer who were absolutely not afraid of us, or anyone else out on the trail.
This week in biking goals: do this loop or some variant thereof again, figure out how we missed the part of the trail that continues up to Bur-Mil, and test ride what looks on the city bike map to be my best route into campus (the uni, not the community college. It will be a long time before I'm up to riding the 11.5 miles, one way, to the community college).
