Dear Braintrust,

I know that MIN in a spreasheet returns the lowest value in a set of values, but is there any function that returns say, the lowest 3 values?

love,

Um, why don't you sort the numbers into a different column (hidden column if you are fancy), and just take the top (or bottom) three cells from that?

Because they're quiz grades, and I'd like to keep together which quiz goes with which grade. I might end up doing this, though.

You probably don't need this info anymore (sorry, I don;t usually check LJ on weekends) but at least in Excel, you can choose which column to sort on and it will keep together which quiz goes with which grade.

Alternatively, you can use the "filter" function (under Data) and ask it to filter out all grades above a certain grade, which won't leave you with the lowest n, but may be useful info to you anyway.
