It's Valentine's Day. Jeff and I don't particularly do Valentine's, but I'm not anti-Valentine's either - there are worse things that an excuse to celebrate and be silly in the middle of winter (dear bob, spring, where are you? Winter is really getting to me, this year.) So, unlike some years, there will be no anti-Valentine's diatribes from me.

Meantime, in case it was any secret, I love my Jeff. He's the best thing that's happened to me, and I love our life together and the future we want to build together. I love our cats, and the happiness and joy and love (the look on a kitten's face when she's curled up between two people she knows loves her, being scritched and talked sweetly to? I wish I could bottle that to pull out when I'm feeling crappy) they bring into our lives. I love my family. I love my department, and the support and growth that I'm gaining from them. I love that I've finally figured out what the heck I want to do with my life. I love my friends, even if we're often too busy to do much about it.

Maybe I'll turn Valentine's Day into "count my blessings" day; there certainly are a lot of them. :)

We went and saw Sin City this afternoon, and I'm glad I didn't pay more than a $1.50 to see it. It wasn't really what we expected from the trailers.…
