So we drove a potential bike route today (the shortest one) to see if it was doable, and fortunately, it is; most of it is through (non-skanky, low traffic) residential streets, and the one annoying bit (a narrow lane that cuts underneath a bridge), I can always walk the bike through. So we're both feeling better about me being able to bike back and forth to school.
However, Wednesday, I'm taking the bus (even though I feel silly doing so for a mile and a half) because even I'm not up to trying to bike anywhere in 97 degree heat.
I envy you taking your bike to school. My school is in Denver, 1/2 hour drive from where I am, so I have to take the bus. Which is okay; it's a 45 minute bus ride, and I can do homework on the way home and study on the way there. With my student ID card I can ride the bus for free.
