- the fire roasted organic tomatoes from Earth Fare? Totally worth it. Those puppies went straight from can to blender to pizza. No metallic taste, no texture issues. There was too much sauce, however, even with Jeff liking extra sauce; the smaller can would be fine next time.
- Cheese was a mixture of colby and something called "antique", both from the farmer's market. The antique was a sharp white cheese that was softer than parmaeson but with the same sort of taste. Excellent.
- due to the afternoon's misadventures, the dough got a longer than usual rest after the bread machine. This resulted in a springy, thick, very tasty crust. I should remember this for next time.
- there is something psychologically more satisfying for me about eating round pizza than square. I have no idea why.

We've been making our pizza on a cookie sheet, but I finally got around to getting a round pizza pan (yay for graduation gift cards) and it just felt better. No good reason, but there you go.

How do you make your pizza dough? Bread machine, or some other way? I no longer have access to a bread machine, so haven't made homemade pizza dough in ages, though I'd love to get back to it, considering my pizza addiction.

Yea, we bread machine. My mom got us one for Christmas, and it makes the whole thing no effort at all, and tt's a heck of a lot cheaper than takeout pizza.

Maybe I shouldn't be an enabler, but our bread machine is relatively inexpensive, and we've been nothing but happy with it. :)

I might need to just break down and get a machine. If only for the pizza dough, though I've had some really wonderful bread from them too and would enjoy having it be that handy. :)
