I have an essay running around in my head about conceptions of the concept of home in Battlestar Gallatica. This either makes me a geek, a budding fan girl, or both.

I vote for both :)

It's kind of funny you should say that. I was watching the show last week and one of the characters said, "Let's go home." And my first thought was, "Home where?"

Which episode was it? We're behind the broadcast tv watching world.

What started me thinking about it was when Kyra says "Let's go home" at the end of "The Farm", which we watched last night. Which contrasts with what Adama says when she takes of, which is "She's gone home."

Possibly both, but it would also be an interesting read!

Those who think about things and concepts are people who are interesting to talk to, even when I'm not a fan of that show. :-)

Not a fan as in, don't like it, or just haven't seen it?

Just haven't seen it. Don't own a tv, haven't ever owned a tv, never been inclined to watch tv.

Still haven't seen buffy, angel, firefly, Stargate SG:1, House, What Not To Wear, any harry potter movie past the first (I think I saw fifteen minutes of the first one), more than six episodes of CSI of any flavor, anything past the pilot of Red Dwarf, any of the red-green show, any episode of Enterprise....

I'm not a visual media girl.

Ahha. :) Whereas, we have a TV, but it only serves as a monitor for the DVD player. I'm definitely a visual media girl, but it has to be good visual media, and broadcast TV, with all the commercials and crappy shows, makes me nuts. So we netflix the good stuff. :)
