One of my religions professors told us during the first week of class, when we were talking about what the definition of religion is, that really this should be tackled by reading old dead German sociologists, but that he'd taken a vow not to torture his undergraduate students like that, so we wouldn't. However, since I am a sociology major, not a religious studies major, what have I been spending parts of my weekend doing? Reading old dead German sociologists. For some reason, this amuses me greatly.
