Jeff mentioned last night that Project Gutenberg had free audio books online. I knew that they had e-books, of course, but didn't know they'd started with audio. I think he's created a monster. :) Unfortunately, the number of human-read texts is small, and the number of computer-read texts are large. I downloaded one of the later, and ... ugh. There's no way; I'd end up with a rapid headache. But they had The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes as a human-read text, so I downloaded it (all 26 files) and happily listened to "A Scandal in Bohemia" this morning on the bus. The only real problem was that I had to crank up the volume pretty high to catch everything over bus noises. I'm enjoying audiobooks a lot more than I thought I would.
