so, Bruce Sterling was talking on campus tonight. i've read one of his books (more are on the todo list, but the to read list has been growing, and my time to read has been shrinking woefully) and the talked looked like it would be interesting, so we went. and it was interesting. he spoke about sci fi/speculative fiction and design, and how the fit together, and imaging what might be possible, and how to make it so, and how a sci fi author ends up as a "visionary-in-residence", and where techology might be headed, and all kinds of stuff.

it was really swifty, and a good use of an evening.

unfortunately, i have about a half an hour more of being functional, with the way things have gone this week, and just a little more homework to finish for tomorrow...
