so i'm working on my philosophy midterm (and yes, i'm actually getting work done on it, shock and all that) and one of my questions is on Plato and democracy. good old Plato thought that democracy started merely as a tool to help the rich get rich, and that the "seeds of democracy" were "the love of property and riches, and a corresponding desire for a free economy."

it seems to me that Plato was getting democracy and capitalism mixed up. for example, you could have a government that was socially socialist but economically capitalist.

anyone care to express an opinion? do capitalism and democracy have to be welded together?

I did Not Prime Time this year, which made me actually write something for the first time since Yuletide. It was fun! It was also a lot more low key…
