me, to IT flunky: "i'm getting 75% packet loss to our mail server, that's not normal.

IT flunky: "well, i don't know."

walk over to computer. IT flunky pings mail server. IT flunky watches "request timed out" fly by. "um, no, that's not normal."

things seem to be working now. we've got me plugged into another drop. it only took two months.
