i'd been considering getting my own place when i moved - and i might yet, i'm not completely sure yet - but does anyone know someone in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area who is looking for a roommate for anytime between the end of november and the end of the year? (i get into the state november 25th, and, last i checked, i had somewhere to stay until the end of the year, though i would prefer to be settled somewhere before then.) i'm looking to keep my rent under $400 a month. i pay my bills on time, generally keep common areas fairly neat (though you wouldn't know it looking at our house right now), and try to keep the drama to myself when i'm not living with my best friends.
the only real catch is that i don't currently drive, so somewhere within walking distance of stuff and bus access is a must. i'm self-sufficient enough; i won't be bugging a roommate for rides, but i do have to live near buses. this pretty well means sticking around NCSU/Chapel Hill/Duke, though as long as it's bus accesible, i don't care. walking distance is defined as under 2 miles.
i drink, so i need roommates who don't object to that. i'm poly and bi, and so subject to overnight guests of variable gender. conversely, i don't object to roommates who drink/drug as long as they don't puke on my stuff, and i don't care if their SO(s) are over all the time, as long as they don't eat my food. i don't care about pets. i'm a pretty easy going roommate as long as the people i'm living with are sane and pay their bills on time, and don't rely on me to pay for their groceries.
i don't object to short leases and don't mind finishing out someone else's lease. if i'm signing a lease, i prefer it not to be longer than 6 months. i have lousy credit but good rental history, and paying my rent and deposits is not an issue. i come with good roommate references.
so... anyone know someone who's looking?
