I hold a masters degree in sociology from the local mid-sized Southern university. I'm a part-time community college instructor and a part-time assistant for a program offering college classes to high school students and a part-time instructor at said mid-sized Southern university. I'm the president of the board of a natural foods coop. I'm passionate about education, local foods, and being happy. I want to teach full time (and not just so I'd have benefits, though that would be nice).

madgenius; his mother; our three children cats; and one hamster. I knit in spurts and read voraciously at times and not at all at others. I spend too much time on the internets, occasionally read fanfic, and am working on spending much more time outside.

Chances are I saw you somewhere on a friend's journal and that you post regularly about things that I'm interested in (at the moment, books, knitting, food, travel, sociology, and did I mention books?) and that you write well. I'm harmless and drama-free, though sometimes a bit grumpy. I lurk a lot, but I always read.
